I love this little rabbit from the Fable Friends stamp set. It reminds me of Peter Rabbit, but that's not the only reason I love it!
If you had asked me 2 years ago if I could make projects like this, I'd probably have laughed and shown you some of my school reports! I don't think I ever scored more than 40% in art, as I am absolutely useless at freehand drawing. I did even worse in craft lessons and actually got my group split up, as the teacher thought I was messing about, when in actual fact I'd tried really hard to draw what she'd asked us to! I really was that bad!
School left me with a belief that I didn't have an artistic bone in my body, but then I discovered Stampin' Up! They really do make it easy to look good!!
Colour matching is simple, as we carry a range of 50 colours in inks, pens & cardstock, and most of those colours carry on into ribbons, embellishments and patterned papers.
Lots of our stamps even have matching stamps which do the colouring for you (known as 2 step stamping) and we even have a range of 'distinktive' stamps which produce an image so detailed it looks like it's been painted by a talented artist!
So, back to the reason I love this set - it has pushed me to learn how to use my Stampin' Blends. They are our range of alcohol markers, which really do make colouring very easy!
So if you're reading this thinking that you couldn't do things like this, then why not give it a go?
Clicking on the links to some of the items I've used in this project, will take you to my online shop, or you can click on the 'shop with me' button. And if you want advice on a few items to get started with, then use the 'contact me' form & I'll try to help.
Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can!!

Instructions:
Start with a piece of Cardstock measuring 6 1/2" x 5 3/4" ( 16.5cm x 15cm)
On the short side, score at 3/4", 2 1/2", 3 1/4", 5" (2cm, 6.5cm, 8.5cm, 13cm)
On the long side, score at 3/4", 5 3/4". (2cm, 14.5cm)
On each of the 2 sides, you should now have square, rectangle, square, rectangle, square.
Cut down the score lines between the rectangles & squares, just to the first score line.
For a neat finish, now wedge slightly into each of the squares.
Fold & burnish all the score lines.
Using wet glue, or other strong adhesive, fold up one end square and the middle square and attach to the inside of the rectangle, making sure the join is square. Then do the same to the opposite side, at the same end. This forms the base of the box.
The other end forms the lid. Attach each of the squares to the adjacent rectangle as above. Tip: Fold the lid around the base as you glue it, this will ensure the lid actually fits over the base.
I decorated mine with 5 pieces of Gingham Gala DSP,
1 of 1 5/8" x 4 7/8" ( 4cm x 12cm)
2 of 5/8" x 1 5/8" (1.5cm x 4cm)
2 of 5/8" x 4 7/8" (1.5cm x 12cm)
I stamped the rabbit from Fable Friends on a piece of Whisper White card, Then cut it out using the second largest of the narrow frames from the stitched shapes framelits. If you don't have these (Why not?! They're fabulous!) then cut the card to 1 1/4" x 3 1/4"(3.5cm x 8.5cm)
The greeting is also from Fable Friends, stamped on to whisper white card measuring 1 1/4" x 1" (3.5cm x 2.5cm)
The rabbits were coloured using the Crumb Cake & Daffodil Delight combo packs of blends (Yellow version of the box) and the Smoky Slate & Highland Heather combo packs (Purple version). On both, I also used a little bit of light Petal Pink for the inside of the ears.
Last, but not least add a Maltesers Bunny!
Hope you like my project!
